Day 1
Meet us up at your Isfahan accommodation and have a pleasant ride through a lush mountainous road to Borujen (110 km). Pass Borujen and make your way toward Shirmard Village (90 km). From there, go on a refreshing hike through the green nature and lovely springs to the foot of Shirmard Mountain (5-6 km) (about 3 hours), where Bakhtiari nomads are temporarily living. In early Spring, the stunning beauty of a carpet of wild flowers (fritillaria) will double the beauty of your path. At the end of your hiking path, find the welcoming nomad family who make you feel at home with their warmth.
Begin your exploration of the intact culture of these unpretentious people while enjoying the surrounding pristine nature. Luck may have it that you get to see the nomads collect eggs, milk cows, churn Mashk, spin wool, sing, weave, make fire and cook. At sunset, see one of the beauties of pastoral life: the sweet moment when the little lambs that have stayed in the stable for the whole day rush to reunite with their mothers that have returned from their graze. At nighttime, away from all the commotion of urban life and in the peace of the nomad’s refuge, sit around a campfire and enjoy the charm of the starry sky. Kiss the gentle lambs goodbye and join the shepherd and his sheep on a hiking adventure in the surrounding nature. Get back to your hosts’ camp for the unique taste of a local campfire dish cooked with love. Then head back to Isfahan with a sweet smile that the adorable nomadic life has brought to your face.
